Taylor Gourmet
Washington DC-based Taylor Gourmet partnered with UrbanLab to help open their first restaurant in Chicago. Of particular concern is making sure Taylor Gourmet can run their signature from-scratch kitchen, which underpins their flavorful food. UrbanLab collaborated with Taylor Gourmet’s remote design and engineering team to help develop an effective realization strategy in Chicago that incorporates both a consistent retail vision and a cohesive brand strategy. Taylor Gourmet has developed a unique aesthetic that includes memorable lighting fixtures made from industrial “found objects” including drywall buckets and oil drums. Lighting is complimented with additional industrial materials like raw sheets of steel and re-purposed wood pallets that adorn the ceiling.
